Shatter Your Income Ceiling

What would it mean to have an extra $1,000 a month?

I want to take you through a process to help you clarify what is holding you back from earning more money and show you a way to start shifting that.

Write down an income goal that is $1,000 more per month than you are currently making.

Next, I am going to have you write down statements and we are going to rate each statement. The way we are going to rate these statements is on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the statement is incredibly true, and 1 meaning it’s not very true at all.

The first statement you are going to write down is “It’s impossible.”

Now rate that statement based on how true it feels, with 10 being totally true, and 1 being not so much.

Write your number down.

Next statement, “I can do it.”

Again, rate that statement based on how true it feels, with 10 being totally true, and 1 being not so much. Write your number down.

Next statement, “I deserve it.”

Rate your statement as to how true it feels and write the number down.

Final statement, “It’ll probably be really hard.” Rate it and write it down.

Now we are going to crank it up a notch. I want you to take that income goal, and write it down again, but this time, double your number.

We are going to rate those statements all over again.

The first statement, “It’s impossible”, rate it again and write down the number.

Next statement, “I can do it.” Rate it again and write it down.

Next statement, “I deserve it.” Rate your statement again as to how true it feels and write the number down.

Final statement, “It’ll probably be really hard.” Rate it again and write it down.

When you take a look at these numbers you are seeing your limiting beliefs.

Let’s take a closer look at what’s coming up for you. We’ll start with the statement “It’s impossible.”

Close your eyes and focus on what’s coming up for you. Write it all down. You want to focus on the feelings that are coming up, not just the thoughts.

For example, if what came up is the thought, “I don’t know enough”, what’s the feeling behind it?

Let’s do the same with the statement, “I can do it.” What are the feelings that are coming up for you?

Take a moment to write them down.

Do the same for the statement, “I deserve it.” Record all the feelings you are having.

Finally, the statement, “It’ll probably be really hard.”

If you’ve allowed the feelings to come up and you wrote them down, you are now looking at a map of your limiting beliefs. Take a moment to look at all the things you’ve written. Do you think walking around with all this will get in your way of achieving your income goal?

What you are looking at are the liming beliefs that are creating your current income ceiling. This process has brought to light what is getting in your way.

I want to talk for a moment about the power of setting an income goal. When you don’t have an income goal you end up having a default goal and that default goal is your current income.
When you set an income goal the brain will rise up to the challenge. Ideas will come and action steps will appear.

The job of our analytical mind is to keep us safe. To keep us from getting hurt. In a nutshell, it keeps us within our comfort zone. The problem with that is that everything you want is outside your comfort zone. If it weren’t you’d already have it. I want that to sink in for a moment.

Do you think it’s important to clear these limiting beliefs?

We’re going to do some tapping.

Say the following phrases aloud while tapping on the Karate Chop point:

Even though I’m not sure about this, I don’t know what it would be like, or how hard it will be to get there. I choose to have faith that I’m following my intention.

And my intention is to step each day into my life’s purpose with passion and with joy. My intention is to become more ME than I have ever been, surrounded by the people and the things that bring me joy. Maybe that’s what it will be like.

As I let go of any beliefs or programming that say I need to struggle, I align with my passion and my joy.

Tapping through all the points using the following phrases:

It’s too much *** It can’t happen *** What could I possibly do to earn that? *** I don’t know what that would be like? *** It’s way more than I have ever earned!” *** Maybe it would be really hard *** It’s just too big *** It’s a number that’s almost unachievable.

I can’t imagine it *** What could I do that could have that much value? *** Why do I even need that much money? *** It’s just too much *** It seems like it might be really hard *** It will probably require a ton of work *** It’s just too much and it would be just too hard.

Take a deep breath and blow out all that energy.

Now I want you to go back and rate yourself again. Thinking about that doubled income goal, say “It’s impossible” and rate it on a scale of 1 to 10.

We’re going to do a bit more tapping.

Continue tapping through all the points using the following phrases:

I’m not sure about this *** I still think it might be really hard to get there *** I choose to have faith *** that I am following my intention *** and my intention is *** to step each day into my life’s purpose *** yes, into my life’s purpose with passion *** and with joy *** My intention is to become more of me *** than I have ever been *** My intention is to be surrounded *** by the people and things that bring me joy ***

As I let go of any beliefs or programming *** that say I need to struggle *** or that believe that it’s necessary to struggle *** I align with my passion *** I align with my joy *** I choose to align with my intention *** I choose to allow my subconscious mind ***to make the connection between what my goal is *** and me surrounded by people and things that bring me joy *** I love allowing into my life *** more people and more things *** that bring me joy *** I am choosing to have faith *** that I am following my positive intention.

Take a deep breath.

When you shift, even if it’s only 2 points from it’s impossible as a ten and you shift to an 8, it has an exponential impact in your energy, enthusiasm, and openness that you have for your own brilliance.

I’ve heard lots about tapping but haven’t tried it before. Thank you for the nudge to give it a shot! Looking forward to seeing how things progress and continuing to read your insightful work. 🙂

Thank you. I would recommend tapping on the script for about a week.
